Open "Cellular Data Network"
Enter the specified APN name under "Cellular Data" (username and password are normally left blank)

On Android

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → select Coral eSIM
Open "Access Point Names (APN)" and add a new APN with ＋
Enter the specified name and APN, save, then select the new APN

You can connect over 5G when all three of these apply:

The partner network covers that area with 5G
Your plan supports 5G (check the plan details at purchase)
Your device supports 5G

Otherwise you'll connect over 4G/LTE, which is still perfectly comfortable for maps, social media, and video.

Common reasons you don't see 5G:

The area isn't within 5G coverage (many countries only cover central urban areas)
Your phone is set to prefer 4G (change under Settings → Cellular → Voice & Data)
The signal is unstable, so your phone falls back to 4G automatically

The code is on the same phone: you can't scan a QR code displayed on the device you're installing to. Show it on another device or print it
Camera won't focus: increase screen brightness and hold the camera a bit further away
Still not working: install manually instead — enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your confirmation email or account page under "Enter Details Manually" in your phone's eSIM setup

Question 50

Error: "This code is no longer valid"

Accepted Answer

This error means the QR code (eSIM profile) has already been used once. Each eSIM QR code can only be installed one time.

Please check:

Is the eSIM already installed? Look in Settings → Cellular (SIMs) — if it's already listed, there's no need to scan again
Was this eSIM installed and then deleted before? A deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled with the same QR code

If you never installed it, or deleted it by mistake, contact our support team — we'll check the status and help you out.

Question 51

eSIM installation failed or stuck

Accepted Answer

If installation hangs on "Activating" or ends in an error, try the following:

Connect to stable Wi-Fi: installation needs a connection, and weak or flaky public Wi-Fi often causes failures
Wait a few minutes: processing can take a while — give it 2–3 minutes before cancelling
Restart your phone and try again
Update your OS: older versions sometimes fail to add eSIMs
Try another method: if the QR code won't work, use manual installation
Clear out old eSIMs: phones have a limit on stored eSIM profiles — delete ones you've finished using

Your eSIM is issued immediately after purchase. Please check these places first:

Order history on your account page: your QR code is here even if no email arrived (most reliable)
The Coral eSIM app: log in to see your purchased eSIMs
Your spam folder: automated emails are sometimes filtered
The email address you entered: check for typos

Also confirm the payment went through. If card authentication was interrupted, the order may not have been completed — in that case you haven't been charged.

My data speed is slow

Try these in order:

Switch networks: turn off automatic network selection and manually pick a different local carrier — this helps most often
Toggle Airplane Mode or restart your phone

My eSIM doesn't appear in settings

First, check whether the line was added here:

iPhone: Settings → Cellular → the list under "Cellular Plans"
Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs

The line may not be labelled "Coral eSIM" — it can show a partner operator's name, or "Secondary" / "SIM 2". An unfamiliar line name is likely your installed eSIM (you can rename it).

Restart your phone — sometimes the list just hasn't refreshed
Update your OS to the latest version
Check the install actually finished — it may have errored partway (installation troubleshooting)

When should I delete my eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Delete it after your trip is over and your data or validity is fully used up.

Important: a deleted Coral eSIM cannot be reinstalled. If you delete it while data or days remain, the remainder is lost.

There's no rush to delete after returning home — an idle eSIM costs nothing
You can simply turn the line off instead of deleting (Settings → Cellular/SIMs → toggle the line off)

Before you delete: a Coral eSIM cannot be reinstalled once removed. Don't delete it while data or validity remains (when to delete). If you just want to pause it, turn the line off instead.

On iPhone

Settings → Cellular
Select the Coral eSIM line you want to remove
Tap "Delete eSIM" at the bottom and confirm

On Android

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
Select the Coral eSIM
Tap "Erase" / "Delete SIM" and confirm

Can I reinstall my eSIM after deleting it?

No. Each Coral eSIM profile can be installed only once — once deleted from your device, it cannot be reinstalled with the same QR code.

Can I transfer my eSIM to a new phone?

Accepted Answer

No. A Coral eSIM profile works only on the device it was first installed on, and transfer features like iPhone's "eSIM Quick Transfer" are not supported.

What to do instead:

Upgrading before your trip? Wait and install the eSIM on your new phone
Switching phones mid-plan? Unfortunately the remaining balance cannot move — please purchase a new eSIM for the new device
Special circumstances (broken or lost phone): contact support and we'll do our best to help

How to turn off your eSIM without deleting it

Accepted Answer

When you're home and not using Coral eSIM for a while, we recommend turning the line off instead of deleting it. No data flows while it's off, so there's no cost.

On iPhone

Settings → Cellular
Select the Coral eSIM line
Switch "Turn On This Line" off

On Android

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
Select the Coral eSIM
Toggle "Use SIM" off

Also switch mobile data back to your home line so everything works normally when you land.

Be careful about deleting: a deleted eSIM cannot be reinstalled, while a line that's simply off can be switched back on anytime.

Question 62

What is an ICCID and where do I find it?

Accepted Answer

The ICCID (Integrated Circuit Card Identifier) is a 19–20 digit number unique to each SIM or eSIM. Sharing it when you contact us lets our team identify your exact eSIM and resolve things faster.

Where to find it

Coral eSIM app / account page (recommended): shown on your eSIM's detail screen — available even before installation
iPhone: Settings → Cellular → select the line → "ICCID"
Android: Settings → About phone → SIM status → "ICCID" (location varies by model)

An ICCID doesn't identify you personally, but please avoid posting it publicly on social media — sharing it with our support team is all that's needed.

How to create an account and log in

Accepted Answer

You can create a free account on the Coral eSIM website or in the app.

Open "Sign up"
Enter your email address and a password (available sign-in options are shown on the login screen)
If a confirmation email arrives, follow the instructions to finish registering

Why create an account: you can access your eSIM QR codes anytime, check your data balance, and top up from your account page.

Forgot your password? Use "Forgot password?" on the login screen and we'll email a reset link to your registered address. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.

Question 64

I bought an eSIM for the wrong country

Accepted Answer

Don't install the eSIM — contact our support team first.

Please include:

Your order number (or the email address used at purchase)
The plan you purchased
The destination and plan you actually need

Important: once the eSIM is installed on a device, the profile counts as used and options become limited. Reach out before installing as soon as you notice the mistake.

What we can do depends on the status of the order (whether it's been installed or activated), so we'll check your case and advise individually.

To avoid this, confirm your destination is covered before purchasing — and consider a regional plan if you're visiting several countries.
